Notification of moving in (moving in from overseas or from outside of Yokohama City)
When you are moving in from overseas or from outside of Yokohama City, you need to go to your local ward office and complete the “Tennyu Todoke” (Notification of moving in) procedure.

Those who must perform the procedure: Those who are moving in to Yokohama City from overseas or from outside of Yokohama City
Notification Period: Within 14 days after moving in to a new address. (You can’t submit the notification before moving in)
Eligibility for the Submission:
・The person moving in
・The head of the household or a member of the same household as the person moving in

  • A person living at the same address but having a separate household will be treated as a proxy.
    ・A proxy (A letter of proxy is required. *No need for a family member of the same household)
    Location for the Procedure:
    Your local ward office of Yokohama City where you are living now, Family Registry Division, Registration Section
    *Please note that you can’t do the procedure at City Hall or the Administrative Service Corner.
